Emily & Word in Progress on NPC

Nordic Poetry Center has put up a downloadable pdf of my book of poetry, Emily. Most of it was developed here in nomansspace during spring-summertime of 2007 – and then it was desktopped. It's really quite a narrative collection, especially the third part.

3 C's: Community, Collage, and Collaboration. At this point, I want to say thanks to those who helped Emily to see the world – by reading and commenting the work in progress. So warm thanks to you Eiríkur, Harry, Karri, Kristian and Leevi!

There's also another interesting ntamo-book on NPC, Aki Salmela's Word in Progress. ”English, Finglish, Xinglish, Glinglish – or rather, all these mixed & fucked up to form a seminal work of new Finnish poetry.”

Nordic Poetry Center

After a longish hibernation period, we have now given rebirth to the EPC Scandinavian Portal (formerly at www.leevilehto.net/epc) as "Nordic Poetry Center", which is part of the renewed Nokturno site, at

http://npc.nokturno.org/

Both Nokturno and the Center will feature as EPC portals at

http://epc.buffalo.edu/connects/portals.html

and the Center will be jointly edited by poets Marko Niemi, the editor of Nokturno, Leevi Lehto, Eiríkur Örn Norðdahl, and Martin Glaz Serup.

We are now soliciting for work by poets from Scandinavia (and nearby).
We are specially interested in

* translations from poetry in native languages into English and other "world" languages
* poetry written in non-native languages, English and others
* all kinds of cross-language and trans-national work in all possible languages and non-languages
* work that attempt at disfiguring, disturbing and destroying languages, native and otherwise

We encourage you to send your contributions / suggestions in an email to the editors:

nordicpoetrycenter@gmail.com

Let's work together to make this project a success, not as one of
cultural import/export in a narrow sense, but of immediate global
relevance to the development of the World of Poetry (World Poetry).

Marko and Leevi
